Welcome to the Werewolf Build “Claws” for ESO (Elder Scrolls Online). Make sure to bookmark the link as I will keep updating the build for each new Update of ESO. This build is optimized for Dungeons & Trials gameplay!

This page here is designed to hold the Werewolf PvE Build “Claws” for all classes. You will find different sections for each class, as you can see in the table of contents. You will see that the Gear is the same for all classes for a Werewolf setup, the same for Champion Points.

The main thing that changes with a different class is the human form aspects. This means each class has different skills and passives at their disposal, which I will showcase in the class section, so you know how to set your character up in human form.

  • Werewolf DPS Build for ALL Classes
  • Optimized for Dungeons & Trials
  • Dual Wield, Bow and Sharp Claws
  • Medium Armor
  • High Damage
  • Good Healing
  • Good Survivability

Gear for the ESO Werewolf Build

You will find 3 different setups here. Setup 1 is the preferred setup. Players who do not have all the gear yet can use Setup 2 which is easier to obtain and beginners can use Setup 3.

  • Setup 1 is with Trial Gear
  • Setup 2 is without Trial Gear
  • Setup 3 is for Beginners

There are a lot of good Stamina Sets available, you can find more viable stamina dps sets in this Stamina DPS Sets Article. I also elaborate on specific sets that are often used in this article to give you a bit more insight as to why they are used.

  • Oakensoul Ring: You could also use the Oakensoul Ring to boost your Werewolf form, but you will only be able to use 1 bar in human form.
  • Pillar of Nirn: If you prefer proc sets, you could also use Pillar of Nirn instead of Tzogvin’s Warband.

Setup & Skills Werewolf Build for ESO

Tip: In case you drop low on Stamina, you can always use Heavy Attacks to restore Stamina.

Werewolf
Slot 1: Brutal Pounce
Slot 2: Hircine’s Rage
Slot 3: Howl of Agony
Slot 4: Ferocious Roar
Slot 5: Claws of Life
Ultimate: Berserker

Skill Explanation

  • Light Attacks: Light Attacks should always be used between abilities, they deal a lot of damage and apply a bleed damage over time effect on the enemy.
  • Brutal Pounce: You have to use this to keep up the Brutal Carnage passive 6x stack, reapply it before it runs out to keep up the extra weapon damage.
  • Hircine’s Rage: Gives you Major Brutality, 20% Weapon Damage buff and also restores Stamina if you are at full health on top of giving 25% more damage through Major Berserk.
  • Howl of Agony: Your main spammable, deals more damage if you face an enemy.
  • Ferocious Roar: Gives you Major Savagery, 12% Weapon Critical buff and also increases the speed of your Heavy Attacks.
  • Claws of Life: This is a very strong damage over time effect and also heals you. If you apply this to 3 or more enemies, you will gain a lot of healing on you.
  • Berserker: We choose this morph because the bleed we get deals a lot of damage.

Resource Management Werewolf Build ESO

Heavy Attacks restore a lot of extra resources, even more so because a Werewolf benefits from the Pursuit passive.

Potions are also another important tool that you want to always use when you are low on Stamina!

  • Heavy Attacks
  • Heavy Attacks extra sustain Werewolf
  • Potions

Rotation for the Werewolf Build

The rotation can be best showcased in this video here. Most important is that you want to keep up the Brutal Carnage passive from the Brutal Pounce skill, to benefit from the Weapon Damage bonus all the time.

The video is from an older patch but it only needs to be able to show the rotation, which it does perfectly.

Class Skills & Passives Werewolf Build

Here you can find the different Classes and how your skill layout should look like for the Werewolf Build in ESO. You can always adjust it to your needs. I will also showcase you what type of class bonus will be active while you are in Werewolf form.

All Classes have a similar dps range. With Sorcerer and Templar being the slightly stronger once ahead of the other classes, but only by a very small margin.

Nightblade Werewolf Build Setup

Nightblades make pretty good Werewolves, not only can they sustain better than all other classes in human form, they also have better sustain in Werewolf form. Here you can find the Nightblade Werewolf build layout with both skills and passives.

  • +2974 Penetration against enemies you are flanking
  • +1000 Magicka and Stamina when an enemy dies within 2s of you damaging the enemy
  • +10% Critical Damage

When you transform into a Werewolf you also benefit from the “Battle Roar” passive, instantly giving you resources back. And when you have a poison damage enchant on your weapons, you can also proc the “Combustion” passive to return extra stamina for you. Here you can find the Dragonknight Werewolf build layout with both skills and passives.

  • +10% Block Mitigation
  • +1650 Spell Resistance
  • Replenish 2550 Health and 25000 Stamina and Magicka when transforming
  • Increases the damage of your Burning and Poisoned status effects by 50%. When you apply Burning to an enemy, you restore 1000 Magicka. When you apply Poisoned to an enemy, you restore 1000 Stamina. Can occur once every 3 seconds for each Magicka and Stamina (Combustion Passive)
  • Elder Dragon passive increases Light Attack and all other instant melee attacks range by 2 meters

And the “Maturation” passive also helps your teammates, increasing the health of everyone by 10%. Here you can find the Warden Werewolf build layout with both skills and passives.

  • -15% snare effectiveness
  • +10% HP if maturation passive procs

Necromancer Werewolf Build Setup

Necromancers do good damage as Werewolf and they have some nice passives that work along with it. However, most of the damage focused passives of the Necromancer will not be active in the Werewolf form because they require Necromancer abilities slotted. You could also slot Bone Goliath on the back bar so you can either decide to transform into a Werewolf or a Goliath which is pretty cool!

  • 10% more damage with damage over time effects.
  • Whenever an enemy you are in combat with dies within 28 meters of you, restore 666 Magicka and Stamina.
  • 1250 Max Health.
  • While you have a negative effect on you, your Healing Done is increased by 8%.

Arcanist Werewolf Build Setup

Arcanists don’t exactly have great benefits as Werewolf because most of their passives are focused on the Crux mechanic. We don’t have access to Crux in the Arcanist Werewolf form. In addition, most of the damage-focused passives of the Arcanist will not be active in the Werewolf form because they require Arcanist abilities slotted, which is impossible in the Werewolf form.

  • 5% More Weapon Damage
  • 18% Stamina and Magicka Recovery
