Welcome to the Magicka Dragonknight Build PvP “Blaze” for ESO (Elder Scrolls Online). Make sure to bookmark the link as I will keep updating the build for each new Update of ESO. The “Blaze” Build is optimized for Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds, you can find both setups on this page, only small adjustments are needed!
This Magicka Dragonknight PvP Build focuses on high burst damage and high maximum resources. Having a lot of Health in Cyrodiil is a good strategy to stay alive because the incoming damage can be huge and that way you won’t instantly die when you get attacked. Magicka DKs have a lot of healing power, therefore going light armor is possible but you have to learn to keep up all your heal over time abilities to not instantly flatline.
The Magicka Dragonknight PVP Build uses the sets Shacklebreaker, Bright-Throat’s Boast, and Valkyn Skoria. Valkyn Skoria synergizes well with a Magicka Dragonknight due to the focus on fire damage.
- Cyrodiil & Battlegrounds
- Light Armor Destro/ Resto Build

Skill Explanation:
- Cauterize: Major Prophecy 12% Spell Crit while slotted, always keep this up and in case you need a burst heal, you can reactivate it early.
- Burning Embers: High Single Target damage over time effect. Also heals once the effect ends.
- Flame Lash: Your main spammable, deals a lot of damage and once an enemy is set off balance, you also gain a huge burst heal and increased damage. You can also run the other morph if you want.
- Deep Breath: Interrupts casting enemies and the final explosion deals massive damage.
- Fossilize: Your main CC tool, this ability can not be blocked or dodge rolled, so you can very easily stun your enemy, especially effective when you use Fossilize into a Leap Ultimate combo.
- Ferocious Leap: Very strong burst Ultimate, plus also applies a big shield to you.
- Harness Magicka: Keep this up as much as possible, decent sized shield that absorbs damage.
- Rapid Regeneration: Very strong heal over time that you always need to keep active.
- Healing Ward: Defensive shield, the lower your health, the bigger the shield will get, this is a lifesaver and can be spammed if you are low on health.
- Volatile Armor: This has to be up all the time, gives you major resistance buff (Major Resolve) as well as increased healing. Also deals decent damage.
- Degeneration: Strong damage over time effect and also gives us Major Sorcery, increasing Spell Damage.
- Life Giver: In case you are under a lot of pressure, activate this ultimate, it gives a lot of extra healing and defensive buffs.

Important Info for Magicka Dragonknight Build PvP
Buff-food
Corrupting Bloody Mara is the best buff food you can get with this setup. However, if you have sustain issues the Witchmother’s Potent Brew is also really great as it gives us extra magicka recovery. If you pick another buff food, you have to make sure that it is a drink. Otherwise, the Bright-Throat Boast set won’t work.
Corrupting Bloody Mara
(Max Health, Max Magicka, Health Recovery)
Witchmother’s Potent Brew Drink
(Max Health, Max Magicka, Magicka Recovery)

We use “The Apprentice” Mundus Stone to boost our spell damage even further. You could also use “The Atronach” if you need extra sustain. You can learn more about all the other Mundus Stones on the Mundus Stone Overview Page.

Resource Management MagDK PVP Build
With this build, a lot of sustain is already built in thanks to the Bright-Throat’s Boast set in combination with the Double Bloody Mara Drink. Dragonknights also have unique passives like the Battle Roar, that help a lot with sustain whenever you activate an ultimate. You can also do heavy attacks on the Resto Staff bar to regain a lot of magicka at once thanks to the Cycle of Life passive.
Potions are a very important aspect of every build, with our recommended Potions you will restore 7582 Magicka and Stamina on top of 8369 Health. This is very important and will increase your survivability and sustain a lot.
- Battle Roar
- Heavy Attacks
- Potion
If you still struggle with sustain, you could always replace the Spell Damage Glyph on the Infused Jewelry piece with a Spell Cost Reduction Glyph.
