Unlocking Warfarer Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Now we are going to show you step-by-step how to unlock the Warfarer Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Before you can begin the process of unlocking the Warfarer, you need to make your way to Battahl.

The easiest way to enter Battahl is to complete all of Captain Brant’s main story quests – he will then send you on your way towards the Beastren Kingdom with a border entry permit. If you’re a Beastren then it’s as simple as that, but if you’re Human then you’ll also need a Beastren Mask to enter the gate to Battahl. The mask can be purchased from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop at Checkpoint Rest, west of Vernworth.

If you want to get the Warfarer Vocation earlier than that then you’ll need to take the secret entrance to Battahl, but this is not a simple task, as you’ll need to survive a dangerous path that is home to several monsters. If you want to try this shortcut, follow the river west from Checkpoint Rest. The river eventually gives way to a mountain pass. Keep following the path until you reach Thunderclap Cave. Enter the cave and navigate your way through it. When you emerge from the other side, you will be at Shutram Falls, within the Beastren Kingdom. Note that even if you take this path, it is still strongly recommended that you buy the Beastren Mask beforehand, as you otherwise risk being arrested for being in Battahl illegally.

Once you have entered Battahl, you can proceed onto the task of unlocking the Warfarer.

The Scotted Sage – Collecting Three Newt Liqueur

To unlock the Warfarer, you need to complete a quest called the Scotted Sage. The quest will require you to bring three bottles of Newt Liqueur, which is a fairly rare item. Luckily, you can purchase them from Higg’s Tavern Stand in Bakbattahl for 5,000 gold each. This is a bit pricey but it’s the easiest way to do the quest by far. Therefore, we will buy the Newt Liqueur bottles before visiting the Warfarer Vocation Maister, Lamond. If your character is Human, make sure you have the Beastren Mask equipped when doing the quest!

With the mask equipped, pick up one of these 2 packages (see image below) and put them inside the fenced area they are next to. You will begin a dialogue that will allow you to buy all 3 Newt Liqueurs at the cost of 5000 gold each.  After we have acquired three Newt Liqueurs we will travel to Lamond to Unlock the Warfarer Vocation.

Unlocking Warfarer Class Map Location Dragon's Dogma 2

Reaching the Volcanic Island Camp will require you to use the Southern Pass unless you have progressed the Main Story quest.  The South Gate of Battahl will not be open until a later stage of the Main Story quest.  Therefore you must head Southwest down the road to Drabnir’s Grotto.

Once you pass through this winding cave you can make your way up the road to the Volcanic Island Camp. Along the road, you can also find the starting point of the Magick Archer Vocation Unlock Questline, if you’re interested.

Continue to follow the road, and you will reach the town Lamond is located in (see map above). To find Lamond, you must go towards the center of the town, where there is rubble and debris.  You will see a ladder at the highest point that will take you through a tunnel.  There is a hot steam bath back here and Lamond is waiting outside.
