Cypher of the Old Ones in Warhammer 2

Think of the Cypher of the Old Ones Puzzle like a game of Sudoku in Total War: Warhammer 2. Each tile can have four colors: blue, red, yellow and purple. Each tile can also have have one to four dots. You need to figure out the number and color of dots that belong where the question mark is. In each row and column no two tiles can have the same number of dots nor the same color.

Now lets try to figure out the question mark on this example. First lets figure out the number. You can see that on the green area we have the following numbers: 1, 3 and 4. That means the number we are looking for will be 2. Next up lets check out the color. On the green area we have blue, red and purple. That means the color we are looking for is yellow. And that is already the whole magic behind the Cypher of the Old Ones Puzzle mechanic.

Dial of the Old Ones in Warhammer 2

Dial of the Old Ones is another puzzle that you can find in Total War: Warhammer 2. This puzzle requires you to align the outer and the inner circle. You can’t actually spin these in the game, you will have to imagine it, which is pretty tricky.

Below you can see an image with the starting and end position. The left side shows the puzzle how we found it, the right puzzle is the completed version. The first thing you will have to do is rotate the face on the inner circle into the correct position. You can see the two eyes and the nose pretty easily, make sure that the eyes are aligned correctly.

Once the face face is aligned you can then rotate the outer circle into the correct position to solve the puzzle. In our example the four correct signs are marked in the green area on the right side.

Cuboid of the Old Ones in Warhammer 2

The Cuboid of the Old Ones puzzle in Total War: Warhammer 2 requires you to figure out what should be placed in the cube area with the question mark. This puzzle can be quite tricky because you need good spatial awareness.

In our example we know that the arrow has to point towards the symbol we have to figure out. That way we can easily determine that the missing symbol is the one in the marked red circle in the image below.
