Dagger & Longbow Build Setup for Throne and Liberty
In this section, we will explain the important components of the build, such as stats, passives, skills and equipment.
Weapons Main vs Off-hand
- Main-hand: Dagger
- Off-hand: Longbow
Our main hand weapon is the Dagger, and our off-hand weapon is the Longbow. These weapons combine to give a great setup for critical damage, making this a strong DPS build for both PvE and PvP.
Stats
The most important stats for the Dagger and Longbow Build are Dexterity, used to improve your damage, Crit chance, Evasion and Movement Speed. You may also find it useful to put some points into Wisdom and Perception. We recommend aiming for a stat distribution similar to the following:
- 10 Strength
- 40 Dexterity
- 15 Wisdom
- 15 Perception
Please note that you can also place a few points in Strength to increase your health values to not get one shot by bosses if needed.
Defense Skill
Each build in Throne and Liberty can slot one defense skill. Because we are using a Dagger and Longbow we have a choice between two defensive skills:
- Daggers – Ambush Stance
- Longbow – Overtaker
For this build, we are using Ambush Stance, which allows you to hide after defending against a Fury Attack, gaining extra Mana Regen and a guaranteed Critical Hit.
Active Skills
Below are explanations of the skills we are using for the Dagger and Longbow Build.
Skills | Skills |
---|---|
1: Predatory Strike | 7: Camouflage Cloak |
2: Shadow Strike | 8: Umbral Spirit |
3: Inject Venom | 9: Fatal Stigma |
4: Brutal Incision | 10: Deadly Marker |
5: Knife Throwing | 11: Ensnaring Arrow |
6: Ankle Strike | 12: Decisive Sniping |
Dagger Skills
- Predatory Strike – Deal Damage. If the target is under the influence of your Curse, Burning or Poison DoT, increase the damage.
- Shadow Strike – Move behind a target and deal damage.
- Inject Venom – Adds Weaken: Poison to all attacks for 6 seconds. The poison lasts for 6 seconds, deals damage over time, stops health regeneration and can be stacked up to 10 times.
- Brutal Incision – Deals heavy damage. Increases Critical Hit Chance if the target is at or below 50% Health.
- Knife Throwing – Throw three daggers in the designated direction. Each dagger deals damage and has a high chance to reduce the target’s Movement Speed for 6 seconds.
- Ankle Strike – Deals damage. Has a high chance to inflict Prone on Stunned, Bound or Sleeping targets.
- Camouflage Cloak – Become hidden for 10.5 seconds, unable to be targeted. Your first attack while hidden is a guaranteed Critical Hit. You stop being hidden when you attack or morph.
- Umbral Spirit – Deal damage to all enemies within a 4 metre radius. Enemies whom you’ve poisoned are also hit with two additional attacks.
- Fatal Stigma – Deals heavy damage. Each stack of Poison on the target increases the damage further.
Longbow Skills
- Ensnaring Arrow – Deals damage, with a high chance of Bind for 3 seconds.
- Deadly Marker – Very high chance to mark the target for 9 seconds. Increases your Hit and Critical Hit Chance against the marked target. Every successful Critical Hit landed on the marked decreases remaining Skill cooldown and Glory Aura cooldown for you and your party members. The Cooldown Reduction effect is halved against Monsters.
- Decisive Sniping – Deals heavy damage. Increases Critical Hit Chance in proportion to the target’s remaining health. Cooldown resets upon landing a Critical Hit. When the skill hits its target, you gain improved Critical Hit Chance for 6 seconds.
Passive Skills
Below are explanations of the passives, including how they can synergize with other passives and skills.
Passive | Passive |
---|---|
Assassin’s Step | Wrathful Edge |
Assassin’s Instincts | Profuse Poison |
Shadow Walker | Steady Aim |
Vicious Fangs | Devoted Shield |
Dagger Passives
- Assassin’s Step – Defeating your target increases your Movement Speed, Attack Speed and Mana Regeneration for 6 seconds. The first skill used within the duration will not consume any Mana. At night, the duration is 9 seconds.
- Assassin’s Instincts – Increases your Melee, Ranged and Magic Critical Hit Chance.
- Shadow Walker – After using a Mobility Skill, your Ranged and Magic Evasion increases for 6 seconds.
- Vicious Fangs – Increases your Melee, Ranged and Magic Critical Hit Chance when attacking a target inflicted by your Poison.
- Wrathful Edge – Significantly increases your Critical Hit Damage.
- Profuse Poison – Increases Poison Duration and Poison Damage during the day. Increases Poison Damage by a greater amount at night.
Longbow Passives
- Steady Aim – Attacking Bound targets increases your Melee, Ranged and Magic Crit Chance.
- Devoted Shield – When Weakened, small chance to create a shield of extra HP that lasts for 3 seconds.
Skills and Passives Upgrade Priority
Upgrading Skills and Passives in the right order will make combat a lot easier in Throne and Liberty. However, it also takes quite a long because you need so-called “Growth Stones” to upgrade and the higher quality ones are difficult to get. Therefore it is important to plan ahead which skills you want to upgrade first. The image below shows the recommended order in which to upgrade your skills.
Note: You unlock higher level skills already in a higher quality such as Rare or Epic. So you won’t have to upgrade all of the Skills.

Equipment Armour and Jewelry
When you are leveling up this build don’t worry too much about gear. The gear itself only becomes important after level 50. Therefore make sure to simply equip whatever you find and focus on leveling up your skills. Make sure to read our Throne and Liberty Equipment Guide to understand the basics of how gear works. Additionally, we also recommend reading the Throne and Liberty Gear Enchanting Guide to get an understanding of how you can improve your gear and why it is important.
Important: Getting the correct traits for each item piece is very time-consuming, even if you don’t have the perfect traits the build will still perfectly work.
Type | Item | Optimal Traits |
---|---|---|
Main-hand Daggers | Lequirus’ Thorny Edge | Melee Hit, Melee Critical Hit, Melee Heavy Attack Chance |
Off-hand Longbow | Karnix’s Hell Bow | Ranged Hit, Ranged Critical Hit, Ranged Heavy Attack Chance |
The Lequirus’ Thorny Edge and the Karnix’s Hell Bow drop from Paola’s Dimension Chest. You get that chest from the Group Dungeons that can be accessed here on the Throne and Liberty Map.
With our setup we are going to use the Death set, which considerably improves your critical damage output.

How to Play the Dagger and Longbow Build in TL
Now that we have explained how to create the Dagger & Longbow DPS build, we will cover the best ways to play the build to get the best out of it, including combos and general tips.
Dagger Longbow Build Combos & Rotation
While you can play the Dagger Longbow build on a casual level by just using random skills or spamming the same skill over and over again, the more skilled player will make the most of their skills and passives, many of which can be used in a certain order to buff the final damage output of each skill – these are known as combos.
There are several valid combos with the Dagger and Longbow build, depending on the situation (single-target, AOE, etc). Generally speaking, these revolve around poisoning your target to use the Vicious Fangs passive, which increases your Critical Hit chance when attacking foes you have poisoned. Therefore it is often a good idea to open your attacks on a target with Inject Venom, and try to ensure that your targets are poisoned as much as possible – this build works best when attacking poisoned targets!
More info about combos and rotation coming soon.
Dagger and Longbow Tips & Tricks
- Don’t focus too much on gear early on. Gear farming only becomes important after you hit max level.
- Get equipment that gives you extra Max Health or stat buffs at the beginning.
- Always keep track of your cooldowns, especially on the high cooldown Skills.
