Welcome to our Longbow Crossbow Archer Build for Throne and Liberty. With this Archer DPS PVE Build, we will be using the combination of the Longbow and Crossbow weapons to achieve a powerful ranged damage output in combat.
Mainhand: Longbow
Offhand: Crossbow
With the Longbow Crossbow DPS build, it is advised to stay mobile and keep your distance from enemies, kiting them when needed – there is no need to be in melee range of enemies with a fully ranged build, so you might as well stay at range to minimize the damage that you take.

Archer (Longbow Crossbow) Build Setup for Throne and Liberty
In this section, we will explain the important components of the build, such as stats, passives, skills, and equipment.
Weapons Main vs Off-hand
- Main-hand: Longbow
- Off-hand: Crossbow
Our main weapon slot is the Longbow and our off-hand weapon slot is the Crossbow. These two synergize extremely well and complement each other. Passives from your secondary weapon are still active when you are holding your primary weapon, and vice versa. This makes it possible to apply the Crossbow’s passives when you are using the Longbow for example.
To give you a good example, let us take a look at Roxie’s Arrowhead passive from the Longbow, the description mentions both Longbow and Crossbow: “Shooting a projectile from Longbows or Crossbows will shoot an additional projectile with a chance of 5%“.
Range: It is important to stay at maximum range if possible because a lot of the Skills and Passives have bonus damage if you are further away from the enemy.
Stats
The most important stat for the Longbow Crossbow Archer Build is Dexterity, which increases your Critical Hit chance, Movement Speed and Attack Speed.
We recommend distributing your stats as follows:
- 10 Strength
- 44 Dexterity
- 10 Wisdom
- 10 Perception
You might want to put a few points into Strength to get your health values up a bit more to prevent oneshots from bosses.
Defense Skill
Each build in Throne and Liberty can slot one defense skill. Because we are using a Longbow and a Crossbow we have a choice between two defensive skills:
- Overtaker (Longbow)
- Sustaining Roll (Crossbow)
For this build we are using Sustaining Roll, which allows you to perform an extra attack after successfully defending against a Fury Attack, increasing your DPS output.
Active Skills
Below are explanations of the skills we are using for the Archer Build.
Skills | Skills |
---|---|
1: Zephyr’s Knock | 7: Quick Fire |
2: Ensnaring Arrow | 8: Merciless Barrage |
3: Decisive Sniping | 9: Mortal Mark |
4: Nature’s Blessing | 10: Nimble Leap |
5: Deadly Marker | 11: Mana Exchange |
6: Brutal Arrow | 12: Thorn Gale |
Longbow Skills
- Zephyr’s Knock – Deals damage, with the amount increasing depending on your distance from the target. When leveled up, the skill gains bonuses when hitting stunned, bound or sleeping targets, such as additional damage and cooldown reduction.
- Ensnaring Arrow – Deals damage, and has an high chance of inflicting Bind. When leveled up, binds enemies for longer and can cause a bonus DoT.
- Decisive Sniping – Deals massive damage, but has a fairly long cooldown. More likely to crit against enemies with high health. Immediately resets cooldown upon landing a Critical Hit.
- Nature’s Blessing – An aura that heals you and other allies within it. When leveled up, it heals for more and also restores Mana.
- Deadly Marker – Has a very high chance to choose a target, increasing your Hit and Critical Hit chance when attacking the marked target. Each successful Critical Hit landed on the marked target by you and your party members decreases you and your party members’ remaining Skills cooldown and your Glory Aura skill cooldown. The cooldown reduction effect is reduced when fighting monsters.
- Brutal Arrow – A single arrow shot to the sky falls to the selected location, dealing damage to the enemies within the 3m area. Enemies within the 1m area from the centre take more damage.
Crossbow Skills
- Quick Fire – Fires 3 projectiles, dealing damage. When leveled up, deals bonus damage against Weakened targets and refunds 10% Cooldown when you crit.
- Merciless Barrage – Shoots to the designated direction with the both hands, 16 times each. The damage of each arrow is fairly low, but hitting the same target repeatedly will increase the damage. The number of attacks can be increased up to 24 times each, based on the attack chance of the wielded Off-Hand Weapon.
- Mortal Mark – Deals damage and applies Weaken, decreasing the target’s defense. When leveled up, also decreases Endurance and Damage Reduction.
- Nimble Leap – Increases your range as you rapidly move in the input direction. When leveled up, also increases Movement and Attack Speed.
- Mana Exchange – Consume a portion of your Health to regain Mana.
- Thorn Gale – Fire an additional projectile with each ranged attack while the effect persists.
Passives
Below are explanations of the passives, including how they can synergize with other passives and skills.
Passives | Passives |
---|---|
1: Steady Aim | 5: Eagle Vision |
2: Sniper’s Sense | 6: Crucial Chance |
3: Roxie’s Arrowhead | 7: Nature’s Power |
4: Ambidexterity | 8: Piercing Strike |
Longbow Passives
- Steady Aim – Increases Critical Chance when attacking a target afflicted with Bind.
- Sniper’s Sense – Your Critical Chance and Critical Damage are increased the further from your target you are.
- Roxie’s Arrowhead – Gain a chance to fire an additional projectile, with the chance increasing when you are facing in the same direction as the wind, with the exact improvement amount depending on the wind speed.
Crossbow Passives
- Ambidexterity – Increases off-hand weapon damage. When leveled up, increases the damage bonus and can also buffs off-hand attack chance, Crit Chance and Crit Damage.
- Eagle Vision – Your hit chance is increased based on your distance from the enemy, along with improved Weaken Chance (at higher levels)
- Crucial Chance – All Skill Cooldowns are reduced when you inflict Weaken. When you land an attack, the duration of all Weaken effects applied by you on the target is increased slightly.
- Nature’s Power – When you use a Movement Skill, the momentum increases your damage bonus for 6 seconds.
- Piercing Strike – Increases Damage bonus.
Skills and Passives Upgrade Priority
Upgrading Skills and Passives in the right order will make combat a lot easier in Throne and Liberty. However, it also takes quite a long because you need so-called “Growth Stones” to upgrade and the higher quality ones are difficult to get.
Note: You unlock higher level skills already in a higher quality such as Rare or Epic. So you won’t have to upgrade all of the Skills.

Equipment Armour and Jewelry
When you are leveling up this build don’t worry too much about gear. The gear itself only becomes important after level 50. Therefore make sure to simply equip whatever you find and focus on leveling up your skills. Make sure to read our Throne and Liberty Equipment Guide to understand the basics of how gear works. Additionally, we also recommend reading the Throne and Liberty Gear Enchanting Guide to get an understanding of how you can improve your gear and why it is important.
Important: Getting the correct traits for each item piece is very time-consuming, even if you don’t have the perfect traits the build will still perfectly work.

How to Play the Longbow Crossbow Archer Build in TL
Now that we have explained how to create the Longbow Crossbow Archer build, we will cover the best ways to play the build to get the best out of it, including combos and general tips.
Archer Build Combos & Rotation
While you can play the Longbow Crossbow build on a casual level by just using random skills or spamming the same skill over and over again, the more skilled player will make the most of their skills and passives, many of which can be used in a certain order to buff the final damage output of each skill – these are known as combos.
Below are the most important combos for this Archer Build, along with a summary of how/why they work.
- Rapid Leap -> Decisive Sniping
- When combined with the Nature’s Power passive, Rapid Leap gives you a temporary damage buff for 3 seconds. Therefore, it’s a good idea to use Rapid Leap just before Decisive Sniping. Decisive Sniping is already a very strong damage skill, and with this extra buff it is even stronger.
- Binding Arrow -> Rapid Leap -> Decisive Sniping
- A more complicated version of the previous combo, Binding Arrow has a chance to inflict Bind on the enemy. If Bind is successfully inflicted, then you will enjoy a higher Critical Chance on your Decisive Sniping skill, on top of the bonus from Rapid Leap and Nature’s Power. This combo takes a little bit longer to pull of and isn’t always necessary, but you might want to do it when fighting strong enemies or other players, as a crit with Decisive Sniping can deal huge damage.
- Crushing Shot -> Binding Arrow -> Rapid Leap -> Decisive Sniping
- The most powerful and most complicated version of this combo. Using Crushing Shot will also inflict Weaken on the target, lowering their defenses and making them more vulnerable to Decisive Sniping. With this combo we are not only buffing our own damage output, we are debuffing the target so that they will take more damage too. This multiplies the damage of Decisive Sniping even more. You won’t always have the luxury of having enough time to get off this version of the combo, but when you can do this safely then it’s worth it.
Archer Tips & Tricks
- Don’t focus too much on gear early on. Gear farming only becomes important after you hit max level.
- Get equipment that gives you extra Max Health or Dexterity stats at the beginning.
- Always keep track of your cooldowns, especially on the high cooldown Skills.
