I used the Virtuoso RGB Wireless headset for several days before I made my second part of the video review. It really fit well on my head and the premium foam earcups made it a charm to wear. I often have issues that headsets are a bit too heavy and then apply pressure onto my glasses which sometimes leads to headache. With the Virtuoso RGB Wireless I tested both my normal glasses and the special gaming Gunnar glasses which have a thicker case that can cause issues, I had none with this new headset. The coolest feature for the headset is the detachable microphone, for me as a content creator I usually use an expensive external microphone, in my case the Rode NT, so I do not need the mic. Now with this headset I can simple detach it so it doesn’t get into my way or is annoying. Now just make sure not to lose that thing!
With such a hefty price tag you also expect performance and quality. The Virtuoso RGB Wireless comes with 50mm speakers with a frequency range of 20Hz-40,000Hz, that is basically double what most gaming headsets have. During my review of the headset in the video I also tested out the microphone and the quality is superb! The cool thing about this headset is also, that you can use it to listen to music on your phone, because it comes with a 3.5mm audio cable that you can plug in everywhere, so it is not limited to gaming.
The design is nice and the materials that are used are high quality. I also like the RGB lighting that I can modify in the software alongside with the many modifications I can make. Within the software you can turn of certain features like the light on the mic, which can cause slight distractions otherwise while gaming, so I was happy I could turn it off. You can also set a sleep mode timer, that way the headset will automatically turn off once you don’t use it anymore.
Whats in the box?
The box comes with the Headset, Wireless USB Adapter, Charging Cable (1.8m), Aux Cable and a Guide. If you ordered the special edition you also get a storage pouch. The USB Adapter can be plugged into your PC or Console of choice, the Charging Cable is 1.8 meters long and can be plugged into any USB plug to charge your headset. The Aux Cable is also a nice addition, in case you want to use the headset to listen to music on your phone or through a mixer (like I usually do when I stream).
Like always you can adjust settings for the headset in the ICUE Software from Corsair.
