Welcome to the Magicka Warden Build PvE “Ice & Fire” for Elder Scrolls Online. Make sure to bookmark the link as I will keep updating the build for each new Update of ESO. The Ice & Fire build is created for Trials, Dungeons & Maelstrom Arena. It features the new Warden Class and it will take some time to figure out the best possible setups for this class.

Wardens focus a lot on pet abilities and elemental damage. Both ranged and melee playstyle are very viable and can deal a lot of damage. Unlike Sorcerers, most of their “pets” are abilities and do not require to be double slotted, which is a huge advantage! Only the Bear Ultimate and the Belly Netch count towards “summonable pets”. We are using the Necropotence set which will give us an insane Magicka pool, that combined with Master Architect and the Bear Ultimate does some serious damage. This setup is optimized for the Bear ultimate with Master Architect, if you do not want the Bear ultimate, then I do recommend running Siroria instead of Master Architect.

Changes from the previous version

Reminder: The Build video is from the Summerset Chapter patch. Small changes have been made in the Wolfhunter DLC update, as you can see here in the written guide.

  • Updated Champion Points and improved the passive section.
  • Changed Enchantments, ZOS changed how they proc, so now we run a fire enchant on the backbar.
  • We also now use 2 Arcane and 1 Bloodthirsty for the first two Gear setups.
  • Optimized Gear Setups, it now follows the rule of 1,2,3
    • Setup 1 is with Trial Gear
    • Setup 2 is without Trial Gear
    • Setup 3 is for Beginners

Resource Management

We run normal Health + Magicka food, with the Blue Netch and Bubbles we have enough sustain. The Blue Netch helps quite a lot already with sustain, so thats the first thing you need to remember to keep up.  Depending on what buff food you are using, make sure to have at least 17,2k Health for Trials and Dungeons. Witchmothers Brew can be very helpful as well with sustain, but you need to invest a few points into Health to reach around 17k HP again. If you think you need more sustain, you can always add more Magicka Recovery Glyphs. Heavy Attacks are also a great tool to restore resources and basically a must have for every build.

  • Elemental Weapon: You can also use Screaming Cliff Racer in case you do not have Elemental Weapon.

Make sure to activate Channeled Acceleration and Blue Betty before you start the rotation.

> Winter’s Revenge > Light Attack > Blockade of Fire > Weapon Swap
> Light Attack > Fetcher Infection > Light Attack > 5x Elemental Weapon (Light Attack between each weave) > Weapon Swap
> Restart

  • Use Channeled Acceleration every 4th rotation, and then only do 3x Elemental Weapon instead of 4 when you use that skill.
  • Recast Blue Betty when it runs out because its very important for sustain. When you use that skill only do 3x Elemental Weapon instead of 4.

Skeleton Parse

This is from the Summerset PTS testing 3m Skeleton. I used Lover instead of Apprentice Mundus Stone in this video. I used a dynamic rotation in that video where I reapply DoTs on cooldown.

Maelstrom Arena

Setup is optimized with the Asylum Inferno Staff. You could use the Bear ultimate with the setup for Dungeon & Trials.
