Magicka Templar Build PvE “Beamplar” Dragon Bones DLC

Table of Contents

Introduction

Welcome to the Magicka Templar Build PvE “Beamplar” for Elder Scrolls Online. Make sure to bookmark the link as I will keep updating the build for each new Update of ESO. The “Beamplar” build is made for PvE Trials, Dungeons and Maelstrom Arena. There will be different sections, with small adjustments so you can use the build both in a group or solo.

You will find two different setups for this build, a ranged and a melee build. I decided to put both versions up because Magicka Templars (along with Magicka DKs) still suffer from the problem that they can not compete with Stamina in melee positions. So I want you to understand what both the best options are for a melee and a ranged setup. You will also just need minor tweaks to change from ranged to melee and the other way around.

  • High Single Target (ST) amage
  • High Area of Effect (AoE) Damage
  • Good sustain
  • Easy survivability due to magicka shield
  • Trials, Dungeons & Maelstrom Arena

Changes from the previous version

You now have the choice of a melee or a ranged setup. Added and updated CP. added melee and ranged rotation. Updated Passives.

Resource Management

With only a few tweaks you can make sure to have good sustain, I will also tell you how you can find your own “sweetspot” for sustain. This patch we are using Channeled Focus which helps already a lot with sustain and it also gives us Spell & Armor resistance on top of that. Now the last big thing that you can choose on your own to tweak your sustain, Magicka Recovery Glyphs. I felt I reached good sustain with 1 Recovery Glyphs. However, if you think your sustain is still not where you would like it to be, then try with  two Magicka Recovery Glyphs and then you should definitely be good to go. Heavy Attacks are also a great tool to restore resources, while we not really need them for this build, if you really get into a situation where you dry out, use one or two heavy attacks! Witchmothers Brew is also an good option, just make sure to adjust your health value.

  • Channeled Focus
  • Drain Magicka Poisons
  • Magicka Recovery Glyph
  • Heavy Attacks
  • Witchmothers Brew

Skills

  • Reflective Light vs Vampires Bane: Reflective light for more AoE damage, Vampires Bane for more Single Target damage. in this patch I prefer Vampires Bane as it as a 12 seconds runtime and opens up more time to activate other skills!
  • Aoe spammable? We are applying all our AoE DoTs on the enemies and then we use Shock Heavy attacks for AoE Damage, this is the most powerful tool and it also restores magicka! You can also use Puncturing Sweeps for AoE dmg.

  • Racial: All

Rotation

Melee

Make sure Channeled Focus is always on the ground to get the extra Magicka Recovery.

Blockade of Fire/Shock > Light Attack > Blazing Spear > Light attack > Purifying Light > Weapon Swap
Reflective Light > Light Attack > Puncturing Sweeps > Light attack > Puncturing Sweeps > Light Attack > Weapon Swap
Restart

Use Radiant Oppresion from 25% or lower boss HP.

Ranged

Make sure Channeled Focus is always on the ground to get the extra Magicka Recovery.

Blockade of Fire/Shock > Light Attack > Blazing Spear > Light attack > Purifying Light > Weapon Swap
Light Attack > Force Pulse > Light Attack > Force Pulse > Light Attack > Force Pulse > Light Attack > Reflective Light > Weapon Swap
Restart

We use Reflective light as last skill before we weapon swap to backbar, because if we use the Asylum Staff and we would weapon swap the Force Pulse the Status effects of the Staff would not get applied. Therefore to prevent this, I put Reflective Light there.

Use Radiant Oppresion from 25% or lower boss HP.

Maelstrom Arena

If you are new to Maelstrom Arena, I highly recommend checking out my Beginners Guide for Magicka Templar in Maelstrom Arena!

Skills

Some of the skills changed, mainly to get a bit more healing. Harness Magicka is your most valuable skill, you have to keep it up all the times so you can bolster your health.

Those are all the necessary changes to the build to successfully run Maelstrom Arena.
